This short case presents a number of vignettes and observations as the basis for a discussion on the deep interaction between strategy and leadership. It points out that many companies with great strategies also have strong leaders; gives examples of settings where different CEOs in one industry have very different strategies and visions, and of settings where the strategy is intimately linked to the CEO's personal background; raises - through a contrasting example - the connection and differences with 'being different'; and finally also provides two examples of failed visions.
