The technological revolution underway is threatening (or promising) to change many of today's jobs and professions. Some people are even warning about the end of many jobs and celebrating the possibility of covering people's economic needs without the need for salaries. Throughout history, all the technological revolutions have directly altered the way people work. The new feature of the transformation we are witnessing today is the speed with which it is happening and its sheer geographic reach.To meet these challenges, perhaps the very first question that all leaders, companies, and societies should ask themselves is precisely: Is working good? In what sense is it good? What are the characteristics of a good job? What is the workplace in a good life? Only with an answer-albeit a provisional one-to these questions can sound decisions be made in one's own life, in organizations, and in different public policies.
